Advancing Women’s Health Through Global Learning – I-GLOW Initiative

I am proud to share the launch of the Improving Women’s Health Globally Through On-Line Education and Training (I-GLOW) project by the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA).

This visionary initiative marks the establishment of a virtual global hub dedicated to women’s health education and capacity building. Supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the project is being implemented across four countries—India, Nigeria, the United States, and Zambia—with a shared commitment to improving women’s health outcomes worldwide.

India has been at the forefront of this transformative effort under the inspiring leadership of Dr Mandakini Megh, President, AMWI India, whose vision and dedication have been instrumental in advancing this initiative.

The I-GLOW project aims to provide high-quality educational resources for healthcare providers and researchers, with a focused emphasis on the fact that women experience health conditions uniquely, differently, and often disproportionately across nearly all areas of healthcare.

This global collaboration reflects the spirit of “Global Learning, Local Solutions for Women’s Health” and stands as a testament to what can be achieved through shared knowledge, leadership, and commitment.

The India page of the I-GLOW platform is now accessible, enabling wider engagement and learning for healthcare professionals across the country.
